Thanks Guys
The V-10 will never sound like a V-8, it just won't. You can spice it up a bit and make it louder or real loud, but it's still a V-10. You can get some of the rumble you're looking for with various aftermarket mufflers. Alot of the guys here like the Flowmaster 40 series, but they are quite a bit louder than the 50 series. But the V-10 has an inherent Indy car-like scream, not the low, watery exhaust pipes sound of the Mustangs. Do a search and listen to some of the sound files, they're very representative of what your truck can sound like with a muffler swap. But the only way to get that V-8 sound would be to swap in a V-8, sorry, but that's the facts.
Thanks for you help Ken..I did not know that....where might I find some of those sound files youre talkin about....and there is no way in hell Im givin up the V10 so Ill just sound like a V10

Go to HeavyAssault's users gallery here on the V-10 site. He has audio files uploaded.
You are correct! The Gibson muffler is pretty mild. No where near the tone of a Flowmaster 40 Series.
I added the cat-back as my first exhaust mod. I could tell a slight difference in tone, but not too much. Then I added the headers. It really "deepened up" the tone. If I were to go to the Flowmaster 40, I believe that it would sound even deeper. Still not like a V8 though...

Cool, good luck getting your dream truck put together exactly like you want it upon your return. I think there's lots of americans who don't say it, or don't say it enough; "Thanks for being there for America". I did my stint in the service, but it was just after the Vietnam era, and returning servicemen were not highly regarded then. We were spit on, called names, flipped off, called baby killers, it was not real pleasant. But thankfully millions of us have stood up when it was time and gave all if necessary to keep America free. So thank you, peace bro.
