Oil Leak

I have had my 2002 7.3 PSD for over 1 week, and noticed some oil spots under it today. Crawled under it and the whole back of the block is wet with oil. Looks like possibly coming from valve cover gaskets, but not sure. It has 40,000 miles on it. Is this covered under warranty?

Exact some problem with me. Same mileage although mine is a 99. Just called Ford and they said they would cover it less the $100 decuctible on the 5yr/100k mile motor warranty. I have got 16 days to get mine done before time runs out.

Well, I hope the dealer can fix this, it is under warranty but I don't understand the $100 deductible. It just seems like an awful lot of oil for a 40000 mile truck that has never pulled anything heavy.

Well, you are out of the 3yr-36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, and the seven year-100000 mile on the engine requires a $100 deductable.

And usually that kind of oil leak means either a high pressure oil line has ruptured and is filling the valley and running down the back, or the turbo mount pedestal o-rings are leaking.
