No power locks

I recently bought a 1997 f350 , I’m having trouble with the power locks . I took the driver side door panel off, didn’t notice any broken wires. I have power to driver door lock buttons, power to fuse box. I jumped wires to door lock actuator the locks went up and down perfectly. I need help with finding either a relay or module. Not sure if this truck originally had power lock fob, not sure if that could be the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Here are the wiring diagrams. The link is to a website so you can navigate back to get more detail. Looks like relays are involved with remote anti theft module.

Switches provide power or ground depending on lock/unlock selection.

Maybe it is a ground problem at the frame or wire from the solenoid to the frame.
I assume your truck is southern but nearing 27 years of rust?
Most likely the problem is near the fuse box or the doors.

Looks like you've already got some answers!

I'll throw one in as well: Have you tested the switch? . . . like a normal continuity test for each direction?

You might want to ask the same thing over in the 1987 - 1996 F150 & Larger F-Series Trucks forum as well.

Welcome aboard!

Use the wiring diagram to measure the voltages at the lock and unlock terminals at the switch. Push the lock button and verify one terminal is 12v and the other is GND. Then press the unlock bottom and the signals should swap positions. You may simply have a bad ground. A voltmeter and the wiring diagram will solve the mystery.

12 volt wires have the ability to burn inside, blacken and not conduct. bet to replace wiring.
