Fule injector rebuilt
I guess this is directed primarily to Andy, but have any of you had any long term experience with the Powerstrokes to know the proper interval for a clean/service/rebuild for the injectors? My Volvo marine direct injection diesels had a 1000 hour injector service recommendation. Of course the difference was that those injectors sat right on top of the cylinder heads and were easily removed by taking off a retaining collar(one bolt) and pulling the injector with a slide hammer (dent puller0.

A "good" injector can last up to 200,000 miles, seen it many times, it all depends on your fuel quality, I see many farmers try to run their "red" fuel which eats the orings up and they only last 75,000. Lots of factors in service life....

I'm guessing that was why I had to rebuilt the volvo injectors every 1000 hrs. We run red diesel in the boats. The first time I had it done, the Volvo mechanic charged my $1200 for the job ($100 per injector), after that it was a DIY and cost $10 per injector to have a commercial diesel shop do the rebuild.
I have the numbers to check to see if I have C94's or C95's but I can't see an injector well enough to find the number. Any suggestions?

See if you can get the small mirrors dentists us. They will work perfectly. BTW, the dentists throw these out regularly with their small picks. They can be an envaluable tool when working in tight spots on any type of engine.
Every trip to my dentist, I just ask for any of the tools he is going to throw out.
I can't see an injector well enough to find the number. Any suggestions?
