'70 F100. Anyone know where I can get the slide portion for the ash tray? This one has worn out and the bearing will not stay in. This is the worn out slide on my ash tray. /70 F100.
I believe LMC sells each individual part needed to fix the ashtray. I'm sure there are a number of companies that sell replacement parts if you Google it.
I would place a wanted ad on the Marketplace on the top of the forum. I don't believe anyone reproduces the ash trays for our trucks. LMC has the bearings, and the billet tray pull, but not the ash tray itself. The 1967 ash trays are different than the 1968-72 trucks. Here is a picture of the slide part that holds the bearings (not my picture).
Again, if you Google it there was a few places that sold replacement parts. There were a few 67 - 72 ashtrays listed on ebay as well. Could also try a metal fab shop. I bet my local shop could make that part for less than $20. Best of luck.
This is the reason I rarely provide help or seldom post on this site. You guys literally want to be spoon feed.
If I can find the parts in 5 minutes so can you, I even gave you the option of having one made, or purchase a complete unit. Still not good enough for ya. Best of luck, I'm out...
Probably the right move for you if you think we need to be spoon fed... Been restoring old Fords for 40 years and know and work the angles before posting...
Sheet metal shops have a minimum, nobody takes a $20 job and we would need a detailed drawing to even get their attention. I checked ebay, yes they have ashtrays but not just the carrier. I have a great ashtray faded evenly with the rest of the dash. All the regular parts suppliers, nobody that I looked at has the carrier.
Very sorry to have been a source of frustration to you, it certainly was not my intention.
I've never seen just the tray for sale. I bent mine back into place. You're probably better off buying a whole assembly off of ebay or something. They are cheap enough.

for all those with suggestions and ideas, thank you.
can't find it or I would not have asked on here.
Maybe you can use that spoon for something else
I do see a couple of Ash Tray assemblies on Evil Bay for $35 each. You may want to look at the top of this forum in the parts section. There are a couple of posts by 78&79Ford about a junk yard near him that has a bunch of parts trucks. I don't mind using a spoon to help out a fellow truck owner, and I agree to walk in a shop is going to be at least $100 if they even want to make a single part.
If it doesn’t work out let me know. I’m pretty sure I bought a pair when trying to match colors and there should be a complete unit in my garage that I’ll never use. I can mail it to you.
