Hey everyone, I have a 1989 f250 that I rebuilt to a bullnose front end after being totaled. I’m finally getting to putting in my power regulator and locks on the driver side door I replaced with a manual one. I have everything wired in (thought it was gonna be plug and play) but the switch is acting like a dud. I had these two wires loose, one orange and one black with a white stripe through it. After stripping those and connecting them with butt splices, I still have one brown connector that I don’t have a plug for on the door wiring harness. Anyone have any tips on what to do next and look at? Will check and replace fuses next
Very little is plug and play on a Ford (especially when switching cabs)
You need an EVTM for both trucks
I have no 1989 truck EVTM but they are not that expensive on Ebay
I have a few for sale like for Crown Vics on there
Once you have the schematics you should be able to make it work
The exact same schematics are also available on AllData at your public library for free
That's what I do

Thanks for that reply, ill look into an EVTM for the truck. However all of the components (regulator, lock actuator, lock cylinder, and wiring harness are out of my 1989 door) and just going back on that same truck. I put them in the 85 door that was manual. To my understanding, that should be pretty plug n play then, right?
It would be plug and play if you switched cab and door harnesses
The 85 EVTM will have plug configurations you can check with the 1989 and compare
Kind of hard to track down but there are connector identification charts in the back of the EVTMs
Maybe I’m not clarifying right. It’s just an 85 door skin (nothing electrical from the 85) I took my 89 locks and window regulator plus the switches out and put them in the 85 door with the wiring harness from 89. So everything electrical in the door is from my 89, and everything it’s connecting to is also 89. So I hope I wouldn’t have to get any 85 harnesses or anything
