Transportation mode

Has anyone driving a 2024 7.3L in Transportation mode?
I test drove one on Tuesday in this mode. I think they must turn the power down. I think a 1972 Ford Pinto had more power. Not impressed.

No such thing as "Transportation Mode" found in the owners manual. Closest thing might be Eco Mode, but it hardly affects performance at all.

How about a photo of your cluster showing transportation mode?

Wonder if that is something they use before delivery to customer? You should not have such a mode available.

Before they get it ready for the customer it is in transportation mode. When it comes off the cargo carrier.

I went back to the dealer and drove the truck out of transportation mode. It is a totally different vehicle. Seems like twice as much power.

Did you know about this mode when you asked the question? Or did you get the info above afterward? Just wondering why you would ask about it. I hope this dealer had completed all the other predelivery prep before letting folks test drive.

I have not heard of it, but then, it is supposed to be gone before they let customers test drive. I know I drove several with 7.3 before ordering mine and none of them were hobbled like that. I suppose it is to make it easier for loading into tight carrier vehicles (rail or road), and also to keep some of them from hotrodding on the ramps.
