Well..........loving my new Truck, first time 350 / 6.7 owner. Kinda embarrassed to admit my only complaint so far is the dam phone. When i'm talking on the phone the peeps on the other end say i'm very muffled and hard to hear. I've searched the manual - no luck. Do i have a bad microphone or is there a setting i'm missing ?
I searched and found a thread on this in the pre 2023 forum - but nothing in the 23> forum ??
I can see the mic thru the holes and there isn't any film or plastic covering it. There was an old post that mentioned some <22 trucks did this when usb cable was plugged it. Might try that tomorrow - it's too late now - I'm 56 and all my friends are likely already sleeping and wouldn't appreciate the test call lol :-)
I have an iPhone and have noticed this at various times when updates occur and only on Bluetooth. I swapped over to Wireless CarPlay and the microphone issue went away. Sometimes, you may have to delete the phone from the system and re-add it after particularly large updates but so far I've only had to do that 1 time. I have 24 F250 Plat for reference.
Wireless CarPlay uses WiFi for the connection instead of the Bluetooth stack which is generally lackluster in my experience in vehicles. WiFi CarPlay has more bandwidth available than what Bluetooth has as well so the compression (audio) may not have to be as intense which may be partly to blame but that is my own unsubstantiated opinion.
If you have Android Auto, I cannot say if that is capable of using WiFi or only BT. However, I believe, you can increase the Mic gain on Android which could help.
