2015 F150 5.0 w/Roush Gen 3 upgrade
Good day everyone!
I've been having some strange happenings lately and would like to know if anybody can help me out.
Two weeks ago I had to floor it to get away from someone in traffic. Around 4000 RPM, the engine cutout and I got a low oil pressure warning light. RPM's went down and continued to drive home. Got home, checked the oil, nothing on the stick. Long story short, I ended up putting in 5qts. In utter confusion, I checked everything. Radiator, drip pan and plug, exhaust manifold; no leaks, no drips, NOTHING. No blue smoke or oil smell in the exhaust. Parking spots at home and work, no oil stains. On top of all that, there was no indication of power loss or strange noises prior to the event. Hoping to have dodged a bullet, I've been driving it very conservatively for the last week and checking the oil daily (no loss noticed). I had my oil changed back in July and already had another appt scheduled but cancelled it beings how much oil I added and want to have a better idea of what's going on.
Last night, I was driving thru town and got the wrench light. About two mins later the engine turned off. I put it in "N" coasted about 10 secs and it started right back up. Continued to drive. 10 mins later i got the check engine light. pulled over, let it sit for a bit. turned it back on, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! Drove slowly home, had to make one more stop. Started truck after i was finished at my stop and had no warning lights! No Wrench or Engine. Stopped by a mechanic shop to see if they could take a look or had any insight.
They hooked up a code reader and no codes were there, looked underneath the hood and chassis. Couldn't come up with anything. Still don't have any lights or warnings.
If anyone has any other ideas where/what to look for... I'd really appreciate it!
