So currently I have.It going to the atmosphere underneath the cab.But I'm costing around the idea of actually having it go in to my downpipe. What do I need to be aware of if I go through this route?
I don't mind the smell my wife does when she drives the truck though that is very rare.
Many folks will tap into the exhaust to assist in drawing out the gases for your exact reason, however it must be done behind/after the DPF as not to foul out the sensors, etc.,............. tail pipe over the axle typically.
I would remove it and install the 23+ Motorcraft CCV box. It'll remove all the smell, last for 100k miles or more, provide the correct vacuum/flow that was engineered into the engine design, and won't leak on your driveway.

What’s different about the 23+ over the 22 and older? Is it also a direct fit?

Once again, the whole idea of a ccv reroute is to put a stop to the oily gases going back into the engine. With the newer ccv version it will dump all the crud back into the engine. Why go back to that method if he already rerouted? And the factory ccv box has nothing to do with "vacuum or flow"........... its simply a mandated EPA device to reburn spent gases. The newer version is as simple as the earlier non filtered element, its non serviceable but does the same thing, dumps back to the engine.
Best bet is to route it to a cheap catch can and then vent the can to the atmosphere somewhere near the rear axle. The can prevents any drips on the driveway and the smell is greatly reduced as well... any smell that does exist will be at the back of the truck.
If the truck is truly on a diet, then the exhaust smell is much stronger anyway.
I'd like to hear more on this matter. I've heard and understand that some sort of CCV mod is in order. I don't know that I like idea of rerouting it but what is it about the later CCV that's acceptable vs the factory one? Truck is a 2019.

later ccv ‘s don’t have a replaceable filter media
any ford ccv is going to drip back to the crank case captured fuel gases which will dilute your oil
any ford ccv is going to send oil vapors to your intake and these vapors have heavy metals which damage emissions systems.
