Head question

Hi I have heard alot of people talk about c8ae d2 heads on there 390 But I have not heard anything about mine. The casting # on mine are c8ae-11 d1f I do not know if there is a differance in these heads from the other ones. If any body knows anything about these could you let me know before I spend the money fixing these are should I try to find something else.
Thanks alot

Your heads should be the same as both... the C8AE and D2TE are the same head, except that the D2's "generally" will have the hardened valve seats making them more compatible with unleaded fuels. Your C8's may be a "service replacement" that are on a rebuilt motor, if that's the case, they may already have the hardened valve seats installed.

Welcome aboard...

Hardened seats

Mike is there any way to tell just by looking at the heads to see if these are hardened or not
