My new truck never fails to baffle me. Was pulling into the garage with my SUV this evening, and it was dark enough in there that I could see the instrument cluster on my F-350 lighting up the garage. The instrument cluster lighting was on at full brightness. I haven't driven the truck in 4 days, no doors were open, no keys in the ignition, etc... I thought that maybe it was doing an OTA update or something, so I left it alone and came back about 45 minutes later to see if the lights were still on. Yes they were.
Opened the driver's door, and immediately the instrument panel lights turned off, and no other lights came on, interior was dark. Popped the hood and checked battery voltage: 11.8v. So I guess this has been going on for a while. I checked the shifter, because I know that F-150's have had a problem with lights staying on when not in park or when a park sensor goes bad, but it seemed to know it was in park.
I've got the charger on it now, but I'll be carrying my jump pack from now on. I'm just wondering what the deal is with this thing. I'm already ticked off that my dealer is backed up for over 3 months on super duty transmission problems, so I can't get my heavily leaking transmission taken care of until February. Sigh....
