E40d transmission actin up

Hey there, I got a 1995 f350 with an e40d and 240k on it with a modified valve body and I'm starting to run into some problems, mainly slipping and it only happens in overdrive and 3rd after converter lockup, these problems occur when I accelerate and it slips a tiny bit, I belive it's tourqe converter slipping a tad. It shifts fine in all the gears, a little hard from first to second, The fluid smells a little burnt (like burnt clutch), I just did filter and fluid to try to help a bit, it didnt really help, going on a 4 hour road trip with a camper very soon that's been planned for a bit, need to know If I should put some Lucas oil trans fix in it, please help!! Planning on dropping trans as soon as I get back just need to see if I will make it
