Dynamic Headlights

Anyone know what this actually means? I have a 2024 F-350 crew with long box and it's slide-in camper certified. I am running the Ready Air dual airbag setup and my truck is level once loaded, but getting too many people flashing me and the owner's manual states that there is no adjustment since the truck has "dynamic" headlights. I didn't get a thorough delivery when I picked up the truck so I am not sure if there is a **** like the Toyota Tundra's that I can adjust while driving? There looks like there may be an adjustment screw after opening the hood, but not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

What trim level if your truck? Dynamic headlights are only on Platinum and Limited.

The Dynamics should adjust to whatever "level" you truck ends up at. The new(er) lights are super bright -- I routinely get flashed in a totally stock (ie, factory rake) truck.

It’s an XLT with premium package.

Here's the instructions out of the '17 manual. I bet the 24's are the same.

Your XLT should have manually adjusted quad halogen lamps. The dynamic/auto adjusting are only the LED projector lamps on the Platinum and Limited.

But, with air bags you should be coming back to a level enough position where the lamps are still aimed correctly. Did you check a reference height before and after airbag install to make sure the installation brought you back to the stock height, then also check that reference point loaded down with payload?

Considering that I lost my rake of a couple of inches and that I do have a little less than a level stance (certainly not squatted out) is apparently enough to cause other drivers to think that my high beams are on, especially when all lamps are illuminated when on low beam (top and bottom lamps) or four lamps in total plus the DRL’s.

I turned off the DRL’s to see if that made a perceptible difference, but still got flashed a lot. Weird that my on board e-manual states that I have the dynamic headlights if they are only offered on the upper trim levels.

That may have changed in 23. I’ve had several XLT Premiums. All were halogen until my current truck. Another XLT Premium but also a Tremor. Factory LED headlights. I don't have the window sticker in front of me at the moment to see if that’s standard or part of another package.

Looking at the build guide for 24 I don't see an LED option, but I didn't spend too much time checking because regardless the Lariat and KR LED lights are only reflectors which are not auto adjusting. If there was an XLT option or package it would only be the reflector version too.

did you know (i dont keep up on this stuff) aparently theres a leveling kit for your head lights. ya how cool is that. so your headlights are all level on your leveled out rig. no word yet on leveling kits for tail lights or mirrors or seats but just think how awesome that would be. everything totally leveled out. you would be king at lunch break around the water cooler or at the lake rollin in with a jetski

Agreed, most likely reflector.
I've looked my window sticker over and can't find anything specific for LED headlights. Under standard equipment it only says Autolamp and Auto High Beam. No mention on whether the lights are halogen or LED. Optional packages are Sport Appearance, XLT Premium and Tremor. None of those packages mentions LED headlights anywhere.

I did find this snippet from a Motor Trend review that states all trim levels come with LED for 2023.

I have the Platinum with dynamic LED projectors. Even so, with the auto-leveling, I do get higher-than-normal amounts of high-beam flashes from oncoming. Even more than my (illegal) Morimoto HIDs in my 2015 RAM.

And I know they work - I can see them moving as I start the truck as well as on the road, both side-to-side as well as up/down.

With my Morimotos I would generally turn my lights off and then flick them back on Bright to show that I had been on low. With the Ford I've just been flashing the highs to show I was on low. I also keep the fog lights on, so that IYKYK I don't have the brights on if the fogs are too.

I looked at my window sticker and the Premium package does list out LED Box Lighting but no mention of "Dynamic" lighting which the on board e-manual states I have. I called CJC Off-Road who I bought my Carli leveling kit from and asked them since they also sell lighting, if they might know what's up. They asked me if I have an actuator lever from my frame to my radius arms. There apparently is a set on the back as well. I didn't notice anything as such when installing the leveling kit and walked out to the garage and confirmed that I don't. I guess these actuator arms are for the self leveling aspect for the load leveling or the on-board scale system. Not sure if these arms are actually tied into the auto leveling headlights though but in logic, it makes sense.

Anyways, I found the hole on top of the shroud for the headlight adjustment and located the plastic adjustment screw and used a 6mm Allen socket to adjust my headlights down a touch. I read several posts here and there about the screws being easily stripped or broken but mine were super easy to turn. Would recommend using the Allen instead of the Phillips though. Turn Clockwise to lower the beam angle and opposite to raise. Standing in front of the truck does seem like the high beams are on since all led lights top and bottom are illuminated when on low beams. Hopefully, I won't get flashed anymore! Thanks for those who chimed in to help.

Hello,
Looks like this thread is 5 months old. How did your adjustment work out?
Reason I ask is I'm getting flashed following 2" leveling kit. I knew headlight adjustment would be required.
After reading about the possibility of dynamic adjusting headlights I dropped back and punted and the reason I ask.
Does the 2024 XLT Premium have Dynamic Adjusting headlights? I can't find the window sticker and dumb me haven't checked the onboard owners manual yet.
