Battery with Solar set up help
Hello All,
2000 Ford Excursion 6.8 V10 4x4 here.
My Optima red top just failed on me after about 3 1/2 years. Pfft. My old Optima I had for over 10 years…. So anyway I decided to order an Odyssey Extreme battery. Debating on trying to run a dual battery and a solar panel on the roof rack. Anyone have recommendations for this? How big should the solar panel be? Thinking of running a 2000W power inverter as well. From what I’ve seen that should be plenty for a small fridge and charging power tool batteries? Thanks!

if the Solar panel can output 4 amps, you are Golden.
I use a 4.5 Amp on my Excursion, and it will top up the batteries from 12.05 to 13.3 in about 3, maybe 4 hours...
Being Solar, it would top them off every day, when the sun is available.
