F150 seat & panel removal?
I'm going to add sound deadening material in as many places as I can get to in my 2001 f-150 supercab. I plan on removing the seats and all the interior panels(maybe even the dash- depends how the rest of it goes). I have a couple of questions about the removal process.
Is there a special tool needed to get the panels off?
Can they be carefully pried off with your hands? I've done some searching on these forums and found a couple of threads detailing the door panel removal but what about the rest of the interior paneling(door pillars, kick panels etc.). My Hanes manual is useless when it comes to this stuff.
When removing the seats it looks pretty simple once you get the right size Torx. I do have the power driver's seat- are there any hidden connections?
Thanks
Tim

First of all, I would suggest you do it as the factory has where possible. For example, there are under dash hush panels on a Navigator which will mount right onto an F150. I have a 2001 SuperCab, also, and I did that. It DOES make a noticeable difference! There may very well be other Navigator pieces that one could use.
Second, get a pry tool to remove those plastic plug fasteners. You probably can remove the panels by hand, but there's a good chance you'll break them.
There are several electrical plugs under the seat, but they are obvious if you check that area. The big torx socket is not easily available, but I did find one at Sears.
