What did you replace the assembly with? I ordered a set of Projector's for mine and should have them around Christmas. Also, did you replace the retaining clips or re-use 'em?
Bossman, I thought the stock headlights on my '99 superduty were just about the ugliest things going. I replaced them with the newer clear looking ones. The clips holding the top rear mounting screw/stud have to be removed. They are tought to get at. The adjusting screws for aiming the lights are turned all the way to get the entire light assembly out. Getting them back in is not all that hard, but will require re-aiming the lights. Plug for bulb is just swapped to the new housing. It was not too bad once I figured out how to get the damn clips off.
'99 F-250, v-10,5spd. K+N, mass air sensor, BBK throttle body, borla headers, 40 flowmaster, Rancho 9000's, rear air bags, Diablo chip Now it runs like it should have from the factory.
That's why I ordered mine, the stock ones were way darker than the upgraded side lamp housing that I installed, and really made the headlights look bad. also, I had the HID package installed, and had to remove the drivers side headlight to replace part of the harness that was going bad prior to installing the HID's. I didn't replace the clips, and on really rough road, I see a little shake in the beam path. The new projectors come with new clips which is nice.
