I have seen a lot of posts where guy are giving thier mileage figures.
When I figured the mileage on my old F150 with dual tanks, it was pretty simple to get the exact amount of fuel used. I would run one tank out of gas, switch over to the other, put some gas in the empty tank, run it dry again, and go from there.
How do you guys do it with the single tank? I am assuming you are really just "guestimating" how much gas is really in the tank. I am thinking that it could account for some of the different figures people are reporting with similar vehicles.
I usually fill up with 30gls everytime so i take
total amount of miles/ 30 gls = mpg. I always reset my trip odometer every fill up and put same amount of fuel in just about everytime. I usually fill up at 1/4 tank. Cause after that the gas goes fast Just My $.02

Thanks, I would imagine that how most people do it. I would think that after doing that for a while and keeping a log you get a good feel the actual mpg.
