hello everyone
I have a 2000 f150 with a 4.6 it has 86000 kms
and when I start it when cold I have no oil presure and oil light is on for a long time 5 to 7 minutes which is too long.
I have done every 5000k oil change.
I have extended power train warranty to 150,000k now if I seze
this engine this winter will ford hounor there warranty or will they give me a stupid reason why it's my fault.
I guess I should start tracking down all the oil change reciets.
anything else I can do to protect myself.
Peter
I would go ahead and take it to them and let them keep it to see what it is doing. They should be able to tell by looking at the inside of the engine and tell if the oil has been changed regular or not by the build up.
Does it actually have no pressure? Is there bearing and lifter noise when this happens. It could be something stupid like a bad pressure switch for the gauge/light or something.
Jimmy
