Am I crazy or is this a new category for the SD here? I could have sworn that I had always gone to the 2017+ group but just noticed this along with threads that I recognize. Its either new or I've had a mini-stroke and confused.
Edit: Just looked up at the stickys and see it's new. Calling off the paramedics.
New truck dashboard layout so new forum. Oh - bed steps too. Not really sure it was needed. But it sounds like the '23+ folks wanted to move on. Change - the only constant....

Add new engine option to the list of changes. 6.7 HO. I also believe the DPF is different in the 23+ after going with the 9th injector. I agree that from a looks only perspective, there are a lot of similarities.

Not a single body panel is interchangeable. New axles, new electronics, new engines, new emissions...
I can't believe there's a new forum now. I gotta stop and grab a lottery ticket somewhere tonight!
Thank you to everyone who made this happen!
I didn’t notice any difference in the forum earlier today. But when I checked in this evening at the old spot I saw that several posts had been moved.
I see that some posts like the one I began on tires must have been deemed to have some overlap between 17-22 and 23 plus so they remained in the old spot.

Don't read that much into it.
There were were over 38,700 threads, not posts, entire threads, in the 2017+ forum early this afternoon.
Not all of those threads could be reviewed to determine if the content in any individual thread had some overlap between 17-22 and 2023.
Moreover, a tire thread can have some overlap with 2007, or 1997 for that matter, depending on the size of the tire.
So a fuzzy logic matrix was developed to identify and consider the most 2023+ specific, the most timely relevant, the most popularly viewed, and the most participated within threads, where participation can be measured by reply count, or number of different members replying, and where popularly viewed doesn't necessarily mean the most replies... into a balanced selection threads representing a cross section of empirically derived forum dynamics with numerically objective metrics to get the forum up and running with a full house of topics of on day one, and with the idea that over time, other threads, including threads that you request, could be moved later.
If you would like your thread moved from 17 - 22 over to 23+, post the link, and it will be done as you request. Happy to accommodate you! And that goes for anyone.

Not an issue for me, just an observation. I can only imagine the work that was put into this undertaking.
I certainly understand that a tire topic could be all over the place covering many years and truck models.
Did you elect do this on election Day, Is it an honor of our old new president?
The decision driver was to be the least disruptive to member's use and enjoyment of the forums, while still executing during the business day with IB staff on hand.
Site traffic appeared to be lower today than usual, perhaps due to today's election drawing more eyes and screens toward the news media for updates on results. Such reasoning for lower traffic is merely speculative, and you already know that FTE doesn't play politics.
Three years too late is a bit of a stretch, but two years late is about right, and coincides with when FTE members began asking for this, even taking a poll, where the majority of member votes were in favor.
That being said, there were also valid arguments for keeping the status quo... but in the end, we listened to the cues of the majority poll vote of this membership community, who called for it at the right time. That crow is ours to eat. Now, we roll up our sleeves and get to work... as we've got some catching up to do.
Thank you for all that you bring to the table... crowd sourcing tidbits of information about Ford trucks to help each other. Your contributions are what we honor with this move, and with all of our efforts to facilitate and continuously improve this place where you communicate.
Where do I go for the "best oil", "best fuel additive", and "gas vs diesel" threads?
Asking for a friend.....
I'm sure that our very own to be amused by will pop up on this new 2023+ forum. We'll always have the 2017-2022 forum if we get nostalgic for those old chestnuts.
