Headers

I have a 1967 F100 with a 352 that I am restoring. I am thinking about going with the 40 series flowmasters for mufflers. What headers do you guys suggest? I've checked out some different brands but want to know what you guys think.

I just went through putting headers on my '76 and posted it in two postings in the FE postings, if you search there for postings by me you should find the info you might want to know before you start turning wrenches and throwing money around. Go with the ceramic coated ones if you have the $. Your truck should be pretty much like mine mechanical-wise. I used Dynomax's. I had the small power steering setup I guess though, I have heard of Dynomax issues when people have the fat power steering. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I will try a search on the other forum. I probably wont go with the ceramic coating because im a teenager on a budget. I do have manual steering so that shouldn't get in the way.

From your gallery it looks as if your doing everything right. if you are chroming out the engine compartment, don't go with "un-coated" headers. I've had my Dynomax primered headers on for 3 weeks and already are starting to chip and rust, I knew they would. so if your going to show your truck, save up for a good pair, it will be worth it in the long run.

Nice job by the way on the resto. Good Luck

Very wise advise. Also stay away from the chromed headers.

I took a look at your gallery after posting this. I just had to do an update.

You will have one sweet ride when you are finished. Spend the extra bucks and get those ceramic headers. If you don't, you'll regret it. Nothing worse than an ugly rusted old exhaust system.
