Most any 4x4 73-79 cab will work, you'd just have to cut the hole out for the seat tank if it didn't have one.

Maybe a 2wd cab works too I know the hump is higher on a 4x4 but maybe it's just the top cover. I don't have 2wd's so I have nothing to compare with.

You'll find conflicting info on internet relative to putting a non highboy bed on a highboy. No non-highboy bed is a direct bolt on nor is it just a matter of drilling new holes in bed and frame. Considering the difficulty of finding a nice highboy bed, that provides incentive to do whatever it takes to do the modification necessary to install standard bed

See this thread for more info from someone who appears to have done it right.

He's looking for a cab. the frame mounts for the cab on a high boy account for the narrower frame. the hump is the question .

Since the search is for both cab and box, you might be misery ahead to buy a complete donor pickup for the Cab and Box.

I have a '77 F350 longbed CrewCab chassis. My understanding is the Crews all had in-cab main fuel tanks.
The Standard cab pickups in '77 did have boxes with fuel doors. I looked for a box by running an ad in the local trader paper.
I got lucky and found a longbed box with the Race-Trac trim, and was the only one that popped up, so I purchased it.
Because the CrewCab frames are narrower in the back than the Standard cabs, I made frame perches from square tube, and welded them to the frame rails to support the box bolt holes and to line up with the OEM box holes.
The two front mounting holes in the box liked up with near center of the upper frame lip, so I drilled and tapped threads to use the factory bolt hole locations again. Presto.
If I lived in the Eastern US, I would consider the shipping cost for a nice clean cancer-free Standard Cab from where-ever found.

I also did a cab swap on my '77 F350 Crew, which was a 2wd chassis, and the donor cab was also a '77 2wd chassis.
Therefore I don't know the interchangeability of the Standard Cabs.

Good luck in your search.
