Blend door actuator

I have a 2003 excursion. I’ve replaced the blend door actuator with 3 new aftermarket versions and none of them respond at all no matter where I set the temperature. The original actuator works but has broken teeth so makes loud noises. Am I missing a step? Seems odd that 3 aftermarket actuators would be bad in a row.

this is the electronic blend door actuator not the vacuum powered mode door actuator.

I believe I figured it out. All the parts websites say it uses a YH1748 blend door actuator but ford parts says it uses a YH1860 blend door actuator due to having automatic temperature controls which is something like 3x the cost.

Can you just swap the motor or what ever has broken teeth over from the new to the old?

I wish. The YH1748 aftermarket actuators have 4 gears inside, the YH1860 actuator i have only has 3 and none of them are the same size as the broken gear.
