Afternoon everyone, I have a 2019 250KR with 6.7 diesel, 30k miles.
Had it Krown sprayed yesterday and just gave it a few miles today get it hot and let excess oil burn off.
Typically when it’s cool out I switch display to show transmission temperature and don’t push it until temp gets over 100 F.
Left transmission temp on display today and noticed temp got up to 192.
I must be getting old but for the life of me I can’t remember what temp it normally reads when running.
Can anyone help an old boy and give me an idea what normal running temperature is (not towing or loaded)?

Yeah. 192 is about where the t-stat opening is for the coolant, so that is right on the money for no load and a warm engine.
6R140 in 2019 runs a tad cooler than the 10R does on later trucks.
Here is a long video of what tempatures your truck will operate at. New normals are a lot hotter than previous versions for higher efficiency. Watching the video may save you future panic.
Reading forums and other sites online, I was fully prepared this time when I got a Ford. The Ford Super Duty transmission generally runs about 40-50 degrees higher than my 6-speed or 10-speed Allison. I don't recall what my 2017 6.2 Platinum ran, though.
My 2024 with the 7.2 has a huge range. It will run from 175 all the way up to ~220. Both towing and unloaded. I know it's a different version of the 10 speed from my 3.5 Ecoboost F150 but that one would run 210-220 all the time.
This is a couple hours in to pulling the 5th wheel with my '16' just a couple days ago.
Normal.
Gotta remember that our 16s have the trans fluid cooler set up with the secondary cooling circuit. I believe the Alumina Dutys have the trans cooling circuit in the primary circuit IIRC.
So the newer trucks will have warmer trans temps than us older trucks...
Thanks guys, I just couldn’t remember if the temperatures I was seeing were in the right rang or not.
Really appreciate all of you, it’s nice to know this great resource is here.

On my old 6.0, normal seemed to be ambient temp + 90*. I have found that my 2018 runs ambient +120* or so. It freaked me out initially, but now I expect my transmission to be 200-220 even when empty

The newer transmissions certainly run a little warmer. This was yesterday during a 850 mile run from NV to CO with my '21' without towing. Top pic about 2.5 hrs in, bottom pic near the end at 12 hours. Those temps are the normal range.
