Do I need these brackets?
On a 79 four wheel drive crew, Are there supposed to be brackets from the front fender corners to the frame? and am I supposed to have any outboard bumper brackets. I know the bumper bolts to the frame but was wondering if there were any brackets that went from the frame to bumper outside of the frame. Also on the fender brackets, I am using the plastic inner fenderwell. Just want to know if the brackets are used in conjunction with the plastic.

1978 and 79 do not have fender braces, but I would recomend them. Find a 1977 and take them off, bolt them up and your fenders will be very strong and won't have the tendency to bend inward. I thought the outer edge of the front bumper was a little weak and should have some kind of brace, but have never seen one. Just the four bolts to the frame.
