Looking to buy my first OBS, have driven a few around, found one I like. Only caveat is that the frame was painted black with no prior photos of how it looked like before. In my opinion it doesn't look bad in videos, will be going in person to get a closer look. Virginia truck all its life.
What do you guys think of this frame?
Depends on what you want and what you can do, have the time to do, or the money to pay someone to do. I see nothing that would scare me away at all. But I'm also not afraid to cut that wheel well out and weld in new metal. Rust will not stop unless its removed. You can slow it down but you are not going to stop it. If you are not afraid of some body work or just DGAF and the frame is SOLID and the price is right. Go for it. 90% of us who buy these are buying a project in one way or the other. Unless you are dropping 35K on some low mile garage kept pristine example you will also be buying a project whether you like it or not. I myself would way rather fix those wheel wells than deal with ratty interior or some crazy inspector gadget lift done by an insane previous owner.

110k miles , 2 owners , Virgina truck it’s whole life.
that alone should tell you the price range, I’d be my daily. Those fenders just throw me off along with the painted frame.
frame came from factory painted black.
it looks good to me.
owner advised me that he did in fact have it painted for aesthetics… before truck did have “barely any rust, only some surface”
mainly worried about the fenders as he bought the truck like that, in the year and a half he’s had it. It has not progressed. I’ll definitely be peeling back some carpet and looking in those areas.
The frame looks fine from those pics. The fender rust is not uncommon. Just got to decide if it meets your expectations. You may not want to spent more $$ on a truck that you paid a premium for. May look at more southern trucks.
