OLD RIM
SCORED some 50 or 60's rims. I must be living right because they practically fell into my hands
, ha, kinda
16" x 6" ???
This post is acting nutty ???
Anyway, What is the largest, safest size , tire that will fit on this rim/wheel ?

I should have some hub centric 1-1/2" spacers very soon that may help fill up wheel well.
The hub bore on these wheels are 1/2" larger than my stock wheels
, is this un-safe
I am almost ecstatic
cuz I have LUSTED 4 these 4 years cuz I have some AMAZING HUBCAPS I have been dying to use , but not the proper wheels.NOW I GOT 2
just need 2 more...............
They look like these Jeep wheels:

I did not know what these came off of when I found these rims I thought they might b Model A , forgot; I think now A rims may be wood. I do not know. I also thought they might be Jeep. Got home & measured the holes & wa-la, FORD rims or at least Ford lug spacing
. I know Ford has the same look as these but they may b JEEP. I forgot about JEEP
I need to know what size tire are good & safe to run . I can find out I just thought some of ya'll might want to add some thoughts. I know hub centic spacers are safer. I do not know if there is a need for the actual wheel to be centic on the factory hub. I looked at my truck hub & how they fit my stock wheels & they do look to be centric on the hub. So the extra 1/2" of the old wheels may not matter. As you said the lugs are tapered, so they hold a lot of the load. I just think if the wheel hub hole fit tight against the hub it would give extra support to the connection. This is why hub centric spacers are safer
, I think

I was set on 8 inch front tires but now I kinda like the STOCK narrow look of skinny tires
, plus my manual steering may get easier
Thanx RichS2659

P.S. I tried one of my old Ford hubcaps earlier & they did not go on , they seem to start & may fit because I did not hit them extremely hard because I did not want to dent the cap. I did hit them fairly hard but I do not know how snug they should fit so I will do more investigating tomorrow. I am now looking at old JEEP wheels & they look just like Ford rims so far.......

Oh well...........Thankx again.............
Luv this Simple Look ~Sometimes less is more ~
The cap is 1 of the worst of 5 with the original paint
Also have a few more odd ones that are chrome
I like'um all,
cuz I have lots of 15" caps that I luv & are in great shape. I plan to change them around like you wear different shoes
The caps do look good and almost will blind you when the sun hits them.........
Oh , I got some 15 inch trim rings that are perfect , but will not fit on here , but I lile the simple look , but the trim is the bomb with the chrome cap with the F on it

Trim looks Great with any cap actually...........will if its chrome cap is the best

Thats my BIG problem , I truely like about 5 or more different caps, so I'm gonna use a bunch cuz they all look AMAZING

I believe this rim is 4.5 or 5 inch wide
I have found bias ply , but not any radials. Also not found exactly what size tire will work.
