2005 expedition fuel issues

Hello all, I have an 05 expedition Eddie Bauer edition with the 5.4 Triton engine that recently had the fuel pump go out. I know for sure the old pump was bad prior to changing it out, but I bench tested it anyway and confirmed it. I have since replaced it with a Sparta fuel pump. Initially after replacement the car ran perfect. I let it idle in the driveway while I put tools away, which took maybe 10 minutes or so. When I went to test drive the vehicle and put the car in reverse the motor instantly started running extremely rich, and killed the car. Since then the car won't start and when it does it runs so rich that you have to keep the rpm over 2000 to keep it from dying. Since these trucks are known for having fuel pump module issues I went ahead and replaced the old one hoping maybe it was bad and causing the issue, to no avail. Im wondering where to go from here as I'm at a loss for ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

I don't have the manual in front of me so I'm not sure if that year has a fuel pressure regulator or not. But if it does, it's on the end of the fuel rail and if it's not working right it could be over pressurizing the fuel injectors.

That year has a fuel rail pressure sensor on the fuel rail ( electronic version of the old regulator...). Make sure it's not leaking fuel into that vacuum line attached to it. If it is, just replace the sensor.
