Oct, Nov, Dec 2024 BS Thread

Twist it sounds like you got a full calendar. Maybe something in Nov. as the club is hosting 3 outings going on in that month.
As for new laptops we ended up with 2 Dell's i7 chip, 16 GB ram, 1TB ssd and Office 2024.
On the Office it had just what the 2 of us use and need where the 365 had a lot we would never use and a yearly $70x2 where this was $150x2 1 time deal.
So in 3 years Office should pay for its self if my math is right

Saw a new doctor today and she was not happy with me

My BP was high, it is most of the time, so she upped the meds and told me I need to walk 30 mins 3 times a week.
Guess I need to get back to the gym. Went for X-rays on a hip that hurts and when I go back in a month we will see if I have to see someone about that

It sucks getting old

I would not think it would be that black with a lock up converter and not a lot of miles?
You sure the person that owned your trailer did not use the truck to pull it

I should do service on my Durango because if it sits for a few days when you put it into gear it takes a bit before it will move.
But with the skid shields on the bottom and me having a hard time getting up from the ground it can wait a little longer

I would also have to do it outside and with sand spurs in the grass thats not going to happen.

Sometimes I think the pain is there to let you know that you are alive.

Saw a guy here in NY with a beautiful 55 F100. He is planning on selling his house and moving to the Wendell area this Spring. (My daughter lives near there -closer to Archer Lodge). I gave him some info about FTE
Dr said she is sending me to PT so will see what happens.
I hope he looks us up and joins the fun.
We try and list shows out and about that our club will go to. Some dont like going out too far and many not at high way speeds so it is all back roads.
Dave ----
I am not really in to the big shows and no way a "driven" car / truck could be judged with trailer queens

Cleaning a bike or car / truck is no fun. I washed & waxed the truck during the storm a few weeks back as it needed waxing.
It was only the second time in 5 years since its been on the road and it needed it.
Time to put on some good tunes and get after the cleaning

My buddy drives either his 69 Ghia or 71 Westfalia to shows and wins quite often.
As far as cleaning. I can't stand it. Maintenance, I'm on it. But polishing is not for me. But I should at least give it a good bath and wipe all the grime off. I won't be q-tipping the cylinder heads or anything like that.
This is what I'm going to enter:
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
1983 Honda GL650i Silverwing Interstate a 1 year only bike.
I bought it used in 2022 had to do a little work to but nothing big.
Carbs not getting fuel, bad petcock, radiator fan not working bad switch and a cleaning.
I should rebuild the front calipers as I think 1 is hanging up and replace the tires because of age, no cracking or anything but you dont mess with tires on bikes!
I also had issue with the battery and replaced it but have not looked into it more since.
I have also thought about repainting it but you cant get the decals and to paint them on is work and I am getting lazy

Have not been out during the summer, to hot with all the gear on just dose not make for a nice ride

Dave -----
Two new belts we’re waiting for me, one 7/16” shorter and one almost 3/4” shorter.
tried the 7/16 first and so far all seems good after a short trip around the ‘hood.
No noise no leaks, etc.
So if you and the truck are up to it there is a show in Dunn on Broad St. Saturday the 19th for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Southland club and another are helping again this year and we got to be there think 6:30 for setup.
I dont know of any others close by for the weekend other than a cars & coffee in Garner / Clayton line at the LQK? head office.
1000 Garner Buss. park Clayton 8 to 11 is what I have if it is still going?
Dave ----
I hope to be able to drive the truck back and forth each day. About a 100 round trip.
Getting up to a nice crisp morning is a lot better that having it 90* and muggy as he11!
I knew it was going to be cool as the farm field next to Penny Farm Stand on NC 210 had the sprinklers going at 7pm last night.
Wonder what they are growing this late in the season?
Got to see how cool it will be tomorrow at 530 / 6am as we meet up in Benson for the St Jude show in Dunn.
Pulling the trailer so will be hooking up to it later today in day light.
I did it in the dark a few weeks back and it is hard enough when doing it by yourself then add dark makes for real fun ....... NOT!
"Garbage truck" did it's job today and is parked till I hook up. May wipe it down as it has a layer if dust from sitting in the garage.
