I have some wheel hop goin on, so I'm trying to find a good remedy. I liked the look of the skyjacker traction bars, are they any good? Any other recommendations for a good price? I don't really want to loose much ground clearance, so the less the better.
Have you looked at Superlift's design? I can't find any pics on their website anymore but it looks like an interesting idea. And you don't loose any ground clearance.
The setup looks similar to the kicker shocks Ford put on the Mustangs throught the 80's until present. Except instead of a shock it uses a bushed rod and it points forward. It has a bracket that bolts to the u-bolt plate and the rod attaches to the frame. I wish I could find a pic.
Superlift offers two different models. One is just heavier duty than the other. From pics I remember, the brackets on the Superlift kits were quite a bit beefier.
ive driven a truck with them ....it was a 96 ranger with a 4.0 5 speed and 35's like 5 inches of block.
the rear still hopped and raised up under heavy throttle/spinning etc....your better off going with a ladder bar type setup
i built mine with traction in mind.....i didnt use a shackle or anything cause flex is not a big worry for me....but when i stomp on it the front raises up instead of the back
The ones that mount to the top of the leafspring do not decrease axlewrap, they actually make the bottom end of the diff climb up and bend the springs in to an S-Shape and may actually increse the effect of the axle wrap. http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/tech/susp/axlewrap/
