I just purchased a MSD Ignition box #6A for my 1993 F-150 with a 5.0 L and a E4OD tranny. I am running the MSD Coil, 9mm Ford Motorsport spark plug wires, and I was curious what spark plug gap you guys are setting your's at with this box?
I don't know if the fact that I have a K&N air filter, a 3" high flow cat or the timing set at 12.5 degrees makes a differance.....but I figured I will give you all the info the first time. Thanks in advance.
I like the setup........it runs better and has improved my throttle response. I have a 302 with 4:10 gears from the factory in a shortbox, standard cab and it tows better and gets better fuel mileage than my 1997 Expedition with 3" exhaust, Diablosport chip, K&N intake and Helix throttle body spacer on a 5.4L.
As for the install I would highly recommend the Ford TFI wiring kit. It took me 10 minutes to install but an hour to figure out where I wanted it. I finally mounted it were the jack and lugwrench go and threw them in the truckbox I have mounted in my bed.
