Hey fella's I am new here so be easy on me. I am trying to get into the car hauling business.. I found a trailer I really like and its a 2 car bumper pull with a rating of 12000 GVW.. The 2nd car has its rear wheels on the ground with its front tires on the trailer kinda like a car dolly.. I was told that anything over 1 car needs to be towed by a truck with DRW.. I really like the F350 crew cab (family hauler) PSD,SRW automatic, what do you fella's think?? Your the experts!! O by the way the pictures of the trailer showed it being pulled by a SRW crew cab Ford, if that helps..
I'd be using a dually just for stability!
there are guys here that tow more than I do.
So just becareful with a srw
either could handle it but for driver comfort and feeling safer
go dually?
First of all, welcome to the site. You'll enjoy being here.
>I found a trailer I really like and its a 2 car bumper pull with a rating of 12000 GVW..
Secondly, what do you mean by "bumper pull"? Is this trailer designed to use a hitch receiver as opposed to a fifth wheel, or do you plan on utilising a ball bolted to your bumper? There is no way a bumper itself will handle 12000lbs.
Thirdly, I would seriously suggest you consider the dually. Owning one, I can vouch for it. Two more wheels on the ground will give you all the stability you need and save tire wear. The CC PSD dually would be a great truck, but plan carefully, 12000lbs is about maximum. Check out Ford's website for the specs.
I do ok with my trailer. But if you can go duelly then I would go for it. I had not planned on buying a trailer this big when I got the truck. I can't stand driving a duelly. and the extra cost for tires too. Get what you want!!! you will be happy. I would go with a goosneck trailer though.
Thanks Fella's for the input..I meant by bumper pull by using a class IV hitch, sorry for the confusion..Also I pretty much decided on a goose neck ..The trailer I am interested in is at www.AdanTrailers.com...Its the model 36 and possibly the 2 car tag 8x37 just do not know all the specs on it yet..It looks like a dually like you fella's said is also the safest way,,,I just hope like he$# that I don't rip off one of them beautiful rear fenders turning into a diesel pump somewhere..That is really the only thing I am worried about..
Karic,,,,,sharp,,sharp truck...You fella's got excellent taste..I am hoping I can get one of the best heavy duty trucks also..Thanks again for you input..
