Is there a site or a quick way to explain how to extract the code that is being given when your check engine light is on?

Go to your local auto zone or auto parts store they will pull the codes for you. I know at my local auto zone they do it for free, beats going to a mechanic who will charge you 100 for it or buying the scan tool for a few hundred bucks

Since you are new, It would help in the future if you clearly identify your year, engine, and wheter 2 or 4WD in your profile.. For codes go to www.batauto.com and look in technical.
