The past few months I have been trying to figure out what coolant to put in my 7.3. There are so many different opinions that it makes research frustrating and I give up. But I would really like to get a coolant flush done before it gets too cold and I loose motivation.
I think I have decided on Final Charge Global. All I really want to know is if this will be okay for the 7.3 and if any additives need to be put in and if I will need to monitor SCA's.
I plan on following Diesel Hubs write up on doing a coolant flush and will be replacing radiator hoses and and the coolant temp sender (sensor?) as well.
Thanks.
I use Peak concentrated antifreeze I get at Sam's Club. I mix it 33% strength with distilled water and I installed a Wix 24307 coolant filter that's pre-charged with SCAs (a must for a 7.3l, good to have on a 6.9l).

Better than just replacing the coolant temp sender would be to swap it out for a mechanical coolant gauge. I bought an Equus at NAPA for $30 some years back and it worked great. Much nicer to see an actual temp than the factory setup.
