my 92' has a loud wine or screaming sound comming from the lower aftsection of the engine. Has new oil pump and drive shaft for the pump. It only makes the noise after it warms up for about 20 min. It didn't make the noise with the old pump so i think it's the pump but if any one has any other thoughts I'll try them. I also messed up and didn't alighn my distrubutor up right when i replaced the rod for the pump and now it's acting like the battery isn't even hooked up. Checked all the fusses and battery but can't find the problem, could use any help you guys have to offer.
I'd have to agree with you and suspect the new oil pump or something that may have gone wrong in the r&r process. Assuming you corrected the rod alignment, what kind of oil pressure are you seeing now (new vs. old)? If the alignment was wrong - did you run it long like that?
I can't think of a connection between the distibutor/rod/oil pump that would affect the battery, but then, I'm not up on anything newer than my old mule...
Perhaps some input from fellow FTE'ers with '90s sleds would help...
