97 shifting funny.
It has a 4.0 SOHV/ 5r55e trans. Whenever I put it in gear, I hear a whistling sound that comes from the tranny. If I put it in neutral or park, the sound goes away. Also, during light exelerations, the car seems like it's going to miss 3rd gear. The engine revs up but the car does not excelerate at all. After about a second or two, it shifts hard into third. The problem seems to go away when the engine is cold or when I step hard on the gas. I've read several articles about the second shift-solenoid often goes bad in this trans. causing similar problem, but can't find out for sure. Any idea or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
