I have a 2001 SD250 V-10 which spark knocks no matter what grade fuel I use. At time while pulling a 3000# trailer it will sound like a Powerstroke. The dealer has looked at it three time with no computer error codes or out of parameter problems. Any ideas or suggestions?

I had the same problem with a 3.0 liter Ranger, I never could get Ford to fix it, so I traded it. The service mgr even told me his Ford truck did the same thing so he just turned the radio up. But I know pinging is bad, it has to be. So it's going to be up to you to make enough noise to Ford to get someone to fix it. If you don't they will just blow you off until you scream enough. There IS a fix, Ford just doesn't want to take the time to fix it, unless you make them. So make them.
Do not use ethanol it will ruin your gas mileage. Now that is winter up here all they have is ethanol blend and my mileage is horrible. It does not help that it is cold but I am struggling to get 10 mpg. Compared with this summer running straight 87 getting 13 easily. Just my thoughts
My 2000 F250 Knocks under load with 87 octane. I started using 91 and knock went away, until I bought a Hypertech tuner. Now the knock is back. The truck has 69,000 miles on it, automatic 4x4. The only upgrades so far are FM40, and the hypertech. What should I do about the knocking?
Not to argue with you, but my 02 V10 has 20,000 miles on it and has pinged for the last 5,000. I met a retired Mobil fuel expert and he said " the only reason it pings is that it needs a higher octane" no matter what the manufactuer says. He told me to not use mid grade (89) because it lacks the full spectrum of additives (91) has, and said to run a tankfull of (91) every fourth tank, this has solved my ping problems.
