which vacuum advance
I am using a 1973 points ignition on my 351w engine. The vacuum advance canister is new as the the distributor is reconditioned. The problem is that the canister doesn't pull the points far enough. I am using a canister from a 302 points type now which is much better but still does not travel fast enough to burn all the fuel. I have also tried newer canisters from electronic distributors but they have different angles, bends, etc. on the arm that links to the plate. this one from the 302 is fair when it is adjusted maximum clockwise. Does anyone know how to order these things? there are several listed on www.rockauto.com but I don't know which has the greatest travel.
