Good advice on tapping the brakes to get better LSD function.
most ppl that have done one or both of the above have reported MUCH better operation of the stock LSD. do a search and see the full discussions.
or... if you want to spend a few bucks... get a detroit locker and 'forgetaboutit' !
hummm.... everyone here takes all my seriousness and makes fun... even the new guys :-X23

I can't seem to find anything in a search about this. If anyone runs across info please post.

Looks like the answer is:
Make sure your clutch packs are in good shape, (less then 50K they're probably OK)
Make sure you have the right oil w/ the proper additives, (Check your manual or talk to a reliable dealer)
Use your parking brake if you need the LS to kick in when not moving,(they're designed to function when both wheels are spinning)
Kick out the dollars for a Detroit Locker

Good luck and happy spinning!!!

This is a misnomer.
What you really need is PRELOAD on the clutches. Load makes the diff spider gears want to seperate from each other, applying more pressure to the clutches.
To get that preload, you have to hit the brakes (or parking brake) and apply some power. It will usually get you more lock-up from the stock LS as long as the clutches aren't glazed.

Thanks Art,
Sounds reasonable, I never did understand quite how it works, just that it does.
