Working on a 2018 6.7 doing the fuel system and a few other house keeping maintenance items. Got to the part where you turn the engine over to line up the timing marks on the cam and HPFP gear and that went well. However, since we're doing the rocker arms, I had to turn the engine further. When I tried to turn it further, it only goes so far then stops like something is binding up.
Things to keep in mind:
-Injectors are all out due to the fuel system replacement and DCR upgrade
-Glow plugs are all out since they are being replaced
-Rocker arms are all off due to them being replaced (found two on the passenger side and one on the driver side that were barely on the valve stem)
If it were an issue of fluid in one of the cylinders, it has the glow plug and injector bores to escape from. This hasn't happened. I've barred this engine over to the point where I'm almost tightening the already torqued harmonic balancer bolts.
I plan on thoroughly investigating this with a borescope, but before I dive in, does anyone have an idea as to what could do this?
