Truck was constantly dying and threw code P0910. I replaced the fuel filter and the mechanic replaced the fuel drive module and it worked good for about 4 months.
Now it’s doing the same thing with the same code. I replaced the fuel rail sensor. Now it will run good for about 10-15 minutes then start to stall and die when I accelerate. It runs with a rough idle in drive and neutral.
I’m not sure if this is related but prior to it starting to stall my battery light would randomly come on. The battery was bad(it’s changed) and the positive terminal clamp was bad(changed) after I did replaced all those the the light would intermittently come on, so I cleaned every ground I could find(2). The light went away but the other problem stayed. Tested the alternator and it is good.
Anything sound familiar or any advice on troubleshooting. I can’t afford to keep throwing parts at this.
Sounds like the alternator has a bad voltage regulator. it will test good until you put a load on it. also, there are some cheap aftermarket FPDM out there, double check what brand he installed and if he cleaned the ground wire connection point on the frame rail.
Check out the gasket on fpdm connector on module . The gasket rolls and pushes the connection back apart intermittently. . The frame ground on axle is very important . There is a jumper for test on fpdm , basically the fpdm switches the ground to the fuel pump so if you jump 2 to 3 on fpdm it will bring on pump . I would also spray cleaner on fpdm connector .
