neutral safety switch question
I have an 81 F100 Automatic, and no backup lights. I attempted to clean off the neutral safety switch, but upon reconnecting it, the truck will no longer start!
I tried to adjust it by loosening the retaining bolts, sticking end of large paper clip through hole on switch (no drill bit around) with trans in neutral, then re-attaching, but still no dice on ignition. So, under the impression that I hosed the switch when I was messing with the wiring and trying to open it to get all the gunk off of it, I've been calling around attempting to find a replacement, and this is where my question comes in:
The trans was put in aftermarket - was originally 3 spd manual - and the parts places around here only have the manual version and the 4spd OD trans version. I have NO idea if this is an overdrive trans, but will the 4spd OD version work either way?
