Whenever I lock my F 250 the mirrors always fold in and that concerns me. First, I keep thinking this will prematurely wear out the mechanism. Second, during winter freezing rain I would prefer them left out so I don't have to break ice or risk burning out the motor if frozen while folded in. So, how may I lock the truck without folding the mirrors?
Did this for my FIL's '23 and the wife's new Expedition. If you were parking somewhere that needed the mirrors folded in for space or safety (garage, street parking, etc) I could see wanting this feature enabled. For most people though, it's annoying and as pointed out COULD lead to premature failure of the motors, especially if there is something blocking it from moving (like heavy ice).
I had mine turned off, but I found myself folding the mirrors 90% of the time since I have to park in a crowded parking lot for work, so I ended up enabling it. It does help me confirm my truck is locked at a glance. I may turn it off in the event of a winter storm.
I felt this way when I got the 2013 F250 back in 2013. 11 years of folding them every time I left the truck parked plus one unintended folding of the driver's side mirror with some pretty bad crunching sounds when I backed into the garage with them open later and they still opened and closed without any drama.
Mine came with that disabled, either from the factory or maybe the dealer did it. I turned it on for a while, but then disabled it again. Yeah, extra wear was part of it, but mostly it was just annoying for the mirrors to deploy every time I wanted to just grab something out of the truck.
Same with the automatic seat and steering wheel positioning. I'm fat, but not so fat that I cannot get into the seat without them being all the way back.

Yeah I'm not personally a fan of the 'exit' position when you shut the truck off. Glad that can be disabled. Though the multi-position memory is nice, wife and I can push one button to put things where we like it to be comfortable driving.
I have mine selected on but lately when locking the truck they have not been folding in. Any one else experience this? They worked fine for months and the last couple days they have not folded. Tried cycling the toggle a few times. They will fold in on that cycle but the next time you lock they will not. They fold in and out perfectly using the door switch so not an issue mechanically.
