Help With Smocking Prblem
I am thinking about buying a 1997 F-250 with a powerstroke. The only problem it has is a smoking problem. here are the symptoms that I know about. smokes heavily at idle and high RPM's
This truck can't be driven untill this is fixed as it would be dangerous for other drivers. Has anyone had this problem and can steer me in the right direction. thanks for the help.

Are you losing coolant or building excessive pressure in coolant reservoir?
Sounds like a coolant leak into the cylinders. Could be expensive. Possibly head gasket, cracked head, or eroded cylinder due to electrolysis. I'm not for sure, but also could be an injector sleeve in cylinder head.
