guess what guys, i called the service advisor and told him i will not pickup the truck `till they put a new diff. assembly and he says he has to call the ford hot line and do what they tell him to do,then i called the service manager and expressed my concern about putting new parts in a contaminated housing and beeing a ls unit having ruined clutch packs, and he told me the same thing. 15 minutes later i get a call from the service advisor and tells me to go and get my truck and he would call me in a week or two to install my brand new diff. assembly. I was so happy when he said that !!! he said also that they called ford and they told him they was going to send a new unit because that diff. had problems to early only with 1200 miles.thank`s to all for your advices if it was not for you i probably would be driving my truck with a couple of new bearings and lots of metal shavings.
I'm glad everything is starting to work out. Keepin' your cool sometimes does pay off. People will usually do more for you if you're not being a pain in the . Keep us all informed next week on the install.
I will be keepin an eye on the diff in my new truck. Thanks for the post and info.
That's great news. Glad it's all working out for you. I'm a firm believer in using the warranty if you've got it. God knows, we're paying for it!
Don't let them screw you around on the loaner either. My dually's been in the shop twice since last October. I insisted on a loaner, 'cause if they'd done the job properly the first time, I wouldn't be there without my truck!
The first time they gave me an Escort , what a POS! I told them it was the worst piece of engineering I had ever seen, and not to do that to me again! Next time a brand new F150! Ain't no SD, but it did what it had to. My account is now flagged for a pickup whenever mine is out of service.
