Hello new member here been lurking for a while got a question. I recently bought a new solenoid pack for my 1995 e4od tranny and it came without the plastic circuit board cover, is it really needed? It doesn't seem like it does much. And my old cover is not the same and will not attach. TIA

I have contacted the company (Power Torque) with the same question still waiting to hear what purpose the cover serves I cannot see any real purpose. Have I stumped everyone? Or is everyone tired of the e4od questions lol.?

Just got a text back from PT they said that some of the early packs did not have covers. The one that I removed must have been original it had no EX hole but it did have a cover.

Thanks! Happy to be here is this a question you can get an answer to? I have a really nice 1995 e150 conversion van with no rot or rust trying to work out a few bugs, probably caused by previous owners.

If Power Torque sent you one without a cover and if Power Torque says early ones didn't have covers, can Power Torque tell you whether or not the one they supplied to you needs the cover or not?

Well, I will find out I have installed it without any cover whether it ever had one? Who knows, I could not get a definitive answer. So, I made an executive decision to roll the dice and trod on.
Thanks for chiming in.
