Thought it might be time to post a photo of my old rig, which is a 1968 F250 4x4 with NP435 4 speed and Dana #24 TC... It just passed 711,000 miles. I have had it since Dec 1969 and it is on the 3rd motor, and 3rd running gear rebuild. 7 years ago I did a cab-off, frame-up total restore of all the rust, grease,dirt, & corrosion, replacing everything but the frame and running gear. Took almost 3 years, and my local body shop helped with most of the sheet metal restore and painting. Photo from 2015 Sept. photo from Sept 2018 avg. 13K miles a year for 49 years..
Thanks JWS 24... and the old boy runs as good as it looks.. Some recent fuel filter changes helped smooth out the idle, as the old tank needs cleaning out, or thrown out. The Racor 3240 marine fuel/water separator was pretty clogged with rust from the old tank... 50 years, and time to go. I have an inline cheepie to catch anything that passes the Racor, but the carb was clean inside, so the filters were doing their jobs... I watched the spedo turn over 711,711.00 recently, but did not have my phone or a camera with me, so just kept on driving. No biggie, but that would have made a nice photo.
