Towing query

High i am curious and seeking knowledge. I have a 99 F550 that is my personal vehicle. It is not registered as commercial.. I need suggestions and advice on how i can legally use this truck to pick up and tow my 99 freightliner fld 120 from california to oklahoma.. i am not really wanting to spend thousands to have someone else tow it for me. i have called all the states that i will be traveling thru and they said it could legally be done but said they could not tell me how as they hadnt seen it done before. So any advice is welcomed.

Are you planning to put it on a trailer?

I was considering either a trailer or piggy backing it.

You simply just do it. If you get pulled over by DOT you tell them everything is personal use so leave you alone. Tell them there is a reason you have personal use registration and no DOT numbers on your doors. Pull out an invisible log book and pretend to hand it to them and say here are my logs for my commercial operation.

Don't ask for permission from the government to do what you have an inalienable god given right to do, moving your property across state lines for personal use.

As mentioned, you're not commercial so it should be OK.
Have a safe and successful trip.

Yup, towing it home but take the fastest direct route out of california.

Your only real issue is the speed limit for towing in california is 55 mph. But you will probably get passed by others towing at that speed.
