I have an 2000 f350 with a 6.8 liter engine it has been sitting for about 5 years I changed out the fuel pump fuel filter and have good fuel pressure but it will only run when you spray something into the air cleaner any help

So, you have fuel and you have spark (runs on ether). Where did you check fuel pressure from?
I would think crank shaft and camshaft sensors next. I would also suggest you download FORSCAN next. It's a very handy diagnostic tool.

Sounds like the injectors ain't injectin'.. Probably clogged, gummed up, or the fuel is sour.
It's unlikely anything is wrong with the cam or crank sensors. If there was, it wouldn't fire or run on starting fluid.
