Still checking on the 85's problems but here's something some of you could use in case you find yourself w/out the right flywheel for your engine swap. I have an 80 F100 302 with AT. When I cracked the #4 piston I rebuilt a 6-300 to put in its place and at the time could not find a flywheel for it so I had to use the 302's plate. Used an old bicycle fork put it in a vise took a plug of alloy turned a shoulder on it to fit tight in center of plate,drilled the plug to use two minture bearings from some of my R/C gear an put a drill blank for axle shaft and used set up to static balance the plate. Had to drill out the welds on counter weight to remove , spun plate when it stopped I marked the high spot, spun in reverse, marked high spot again(diffrent color) I enlarged the one of the holes along the bottom some with a dremel or drill ( depends on how much,good guess) kept spining both ways and marking an grinding until marks were all the way around. Run good and smooth when I cranked it up.
